Now I'm just gonna give you a second to take the the title of this post in because I know for some "God- fearing" people(sarcasm intended) it could be considered borderline blasphemy. The title actually derives from the website Gay By God.net which is dedicated to providing an online resource to LGBT people of faith.

I stumbled onto a response video by Elder Joseph W. Tolton to the controversial Connecticut gay exorcism mentioned earlier on loldarian.com and thought I would provide an additional forum for his views to be represented.

Let me warn you that much of what Elder Tolton says is quite radical and if you come from the school of Christian fundamentalism you should prepare yourself to be offended.

How many of you who identify as gay or lesbian actually believe that your whole person should be celebrated? Not just the part of you society or your family deems acceptable but your entire being? Have you ever looked in the mirror and said, "I'm gay and it's good?"

Watch him frame in five minutes and thirty three seconds why who you are is a blessing and why the black community is entrenched in homophobia.

As if the belief in a monotheistic religion was not bad enough christianity is about as crass as you can get with your beliefs. To believe in christianity is to slap in the face our african ancestry and nuzzle up closely with our oppressors. People really need to let go of the need for make believe to usher them through their days. Why would you believe in a religion that is not affirming to you. Christianity is pretty clear (although its mostly made up anyway) about its views on same gender attractions. And your belief in this system makes you complicit in the terror it has on LGBT people all over the world.

I agree with Mr FAMU. Why is it that so many black gay men cling to religion?

Christianity has done more to harm to the minds and bodies of LGBTs than any other single thing: except maybe the Muslim religion. Why do so many of us persist in believing in fairy tales? It's like believing in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. Grow up!

I don't need any preacher to tell me that gay is good. I told myself that at least 20 years ago. Keep saying it, over and over, until you BELIEVE it.

Wow...where do i begin on this topic.

1. By this "pastor" saying that people are possessed by "homophobia", does he affirm demons exist?

2. If he feel demons exist, could he provide guidance on how Christians are to deal with them?

3. Christianity is a choice, you don't have to follow if you feel God is not drawing you. But what makes you think you can come to God as you are and stay the same and not be changed in his form and image? That is where I feel the gay culture have the conflict. Homosexuality does not exist in the nature of God. It is a diabolical device from hell itself.
