I opened my inbox this morning and the first e-mail of the day I read was a piece from The Advocate on The Jena 6 by writer James Kirchick. I'm not a morning person but I was feeling extra good because I woke up with the love of my life next to me, but my mood quickly turned sour as I read the racist bullshit that continues to come out of the mouths of white gay America regarding the Jena 6 and HRC's support of the cause. Everything I wrote in my piece regarding these two groups and the mainstream gay community's reaction to the Jena 6 was only re-enforced by this article.

Read it for yourself here and get ready to hurl.

Honestly, at this point, I am not surprised at all.

To be honest, he does have a point.

Since I'm not involved with the proceedings and as most of the public is, I am not well versed in the details of what actually happened.....my vision is a little distorted. But I'm not understanding what the injustice is with the Jena 6. Just because you are angered by something that someone has done, you do not have the right to be violent towards someone. Two wrongs do not make a right, and when you try to take the law into your own hand you have to pay the price.
